Javi Villa (Asturhíbrido), 11 points ahead of Josep Bassas (IPPON Moto Vallés), will try to maintain second place in the championship.
The Rallye de Murça, one of the novelties this year in the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Iberian Cup (TGRIC) calendar, will be the stage where the champion of the single-brand cup organized by Toyota Caetano Portugal, Toyota Spain and the Motor & Sport Institute (MSI) will be decided on Saturday 16, with the young Bolivian driver Bruno Bulacia (CSM Automoció) as the big favorite.
After finishing third in 2023, a year in which he already achieved two victories, he is now preparing to win his first international rally title, in a season in which he has so far scored four victories in seven races: Fafe, Aboboreira, Lisbon and Catalunya. Until the last round of the TGRIC, he was the only one to have won on gravel, where he is a specialist, and on tarmac, which he won in Lisbon.
With a 31-point lead over Javi Villa (Asturhíbrido), multiple champion of the Spanish Hillclimb Championship, the youngest (22) of the Bulacia brothers has everything he needs to be a winner in Murça, where he will once again be competing on his favorite surface.
The difference in points that separates him from the leader and the fact that he does not feel as comfortable on gravel as on tarmac, where he has already won twice this season (Sierra Morena and Llanes), the main objective of Javi Villa (Asturhíbrido) in Murça is to maintain second place in the classification, despite the attempts of Josep Bassas (IPPON Motor Vallés) to snatch it away from him. The Catalan driver, winner of the Rías Baixas, is 11 points behind Villa and is still trying to reach the second place in the TGRIC. In any case, Bassas is also forced to look back, as his third position is within reach of Pedro Lago Viera (Toyota Caetano Auto). And it is precisely 11 points that separate him from the fourth-placed Portuguese driver. Thus, this race, which takes place in the Trás-os-Montes region, promises interesting duels and has a special feature: as it is the last race, there is a coefficient of 1.5 that is added to the points scored, both for the final place and for the stages won.
In the absence of Miguel Campos (Macedo & Macedo GTW Racing), José Lamela (Breogán Group) will have the fifth place in the final of the TGRIC within his reach, in a season closing event with seven entries, completing the line-up with Manuel Martins and Ivan Rana. The Rally Murça starts on Saturday morning, with a total of three different stages, the longest of 14.34 kilometers, two of them with three passes and one with only two passes, for a total of 90.60 timed kilometers ...
