Bruno Bulacia is the leader of the TGRIC with 116 points, Javi Villa second with 97 points and Josep Bassas third with 91 points.
The Rallye de Llanes, which was held this weekend, was the sixth event in the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Iberian Cup, the single-brand cup organised by Toyota Caetano Auto, Toyota Spain and Motor & Sport Institute. A rally that was marked by changeable weather, which made it difficult to choose the right tyres for each stage.
The Rallye de Llanes, an unprecedented event in the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Iberian Cup, was the last event on tarmac this season.
José Lamela (Toyota Breogán) was the first to set the best time in TC-1, followed by Javi Villa (Asturhíbrido) and Josep Bassas (IPPON Motor Vallés), driver who would be the fastest in TC-2. In this same stage, Bruno Bulacia had to retire due to mechanical problems. After this first loop, the first three classified with the Toyota GR Yaris RZ Cup of the TGRIC were only 10.4 seconds apart.
With three stages to go, Bassas (IPPON Motor Vallés) set a new best time, while Javi Villa (Asturhíbrido) took TC-4 and TC-5. The Asturian driver finished the first stage as leader, 10.1 seconds ahead of José Lamela (Breogán Group), who, although he finished second, had to retire at the end of the day due to a mechanical problem. Josep Bassas (IPPON Motor Vallés) finished third, 11.3 seconds behind the leader.
The classification of the first stage was closed by Pedro Lago (Toyota Caetano Auto), Isaac Vera, who reappeared with the Kobe Motor car, Manuel Martins, José Mulero (Labasa) and Iván Raña (Grupo Breogán).
Eight stages were scheduled for the second stage, including the longest of the rally, Nueva-Labra (19.98 km), but both passes had to be cancelled. Josep Bassas (IPPON Motor Vallés) took TC-7 and Javi Villa (Asturhíbrido) gave him the reply in TC-9. Both drivers faced the decisive stages of the afternoon separated by 8.5 seconds, with Pedro Lago (Toyota Caetano Auto) in a comfortable third position.
In the first loop of the afternoon, after two scratches by Bassas (IPPON Motor Vallés), the gap to Javi Villa (Asturhíbrido) was 1 second with two stages to go. It couldn't have been more exciting in the single-brand cup with the GR Yaris RZ.
Javi Villa (Asturhíbrido) would set a new best time in TC-12 and, although Bassas (IPPON Motor Vallés) would score the last stage of the day, he would finally finish 5.1 seconds behind the Asturian driver.
Pedro Lago (Toyota Caetano), with a very consistent pace, finished third, followed by Isaac Vera (Toyota Kobe Motor), who had a rally that got better and better. Manuel Martins finished fifth, ahead of José Mulero (Labasa), Iván Raña (Grupo Breogán), seventh. Bruno Bulacia (CSM Automoció) rejoined for the second stage, after abandoning on the first day, and closed the classification.
After this sixth event of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Iberian Cup, Bruno Bulacia (CSM Automoció) continues to lead the championship, with 116 points; Javi Villa (Asturhíbrido) is second, with 97 points, and Josep Bassas (IPPON Motor Vallés), third, with 91 points.
Miguel Campos (Macedo & Macedo GTW Racing), despite being registered for the race, did not take the start.
The next scoring event for the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Iberian Cup will be the Rallye de Cataluña (17-18 October), on gravel.
