The arrival of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Iberian Cup to Asturias will be one of the major appeals of this weekend's Rally Blendio Princesa de Asturias Ciudad de Oviedo, scoring for the Spanish Rally Super Championship. This will be the first opportunity for fans to enjoy the performance of Toyota GR Yaris RZ Cup on tarmac, as the event scheduled on July 8 and 9 in Portugal wase postponed by the Portuguese authorities, due to extreme heat.

This rotation of drivers makes this promotional cup one of the most appealing for drivers and fans. This year too, hundreds of passionate fans are expected in the Asturian stages.
Ricardo Costa and Rui Vilaça (Macedo & Macedo GTW Racing) are leading the competition as well as the only drivers who reached the podium in all the races held so far. The team will aim to maintain this regularity and to fight off Miguel Campos (Inside Motor) ranked second and Fran Cima (Asturhíbrido) ranked third in the general classification and playing home this time. Dani Berdomás (Breogán Group), ranked fourth in the general classification and being the driver who has won the most timed stages of the season, needs to add a new victory to increase his odds to win the cup.
Germán Gómez (Escudería Surco), despite his lack of experience on tarmac and his focus on regularity instead of speed in previous rallies, wants to make a qualitative leap on a surface he feels more comfortable with. CSM Automoció will once again participate in the event with Sergi Francolí and María Salvo, winners of the Rally Terra da Auga as well as Rubén Muñoz and Miquel Lorenzo. The list of registered includes the most seasoned driver of the Iberian Cup, Víctor Calisto (Inside Motor) as well as the young driver Oriol Comabella (Team's Motor). This cup not only offers the youngest drivers a chance to move up in their sporting careers with a 261 HP four-wheel drive car, but also an opportunity to the most experienced drivers to continue competing at a high level and at an affordable cost.
The ceremonial start of the Princesa de Asturias Rally will take place on Thursday 8 in Oviedo.
